My Maintenance: A top nutritionist’s (eco) beauty essentials

A three year odyssey backpacking around the world (the trip included several shamans, not to mention seven months of living out of her car in Africa) gave New York/L.A. – based nutritionist and yoga instructor Kimberly Snyder a fresh perspective on health and beauty. “These women would look so amazing – and everything they used was natural, and it changed my philosophy”. Here, Snyder’s personal all-natural must haves:

Hair Smoother:
SHAMPOO – “My all time favorite, 100 percent plant based brew – and the light lemony ginger scent is incredible”.
[Hamadi Organics Ginger Soymilk Hair Wash, $23, beauty.com]

Pure Ambience:
CANDLE – “Soy candles are healthier to breath than petroleum – based ones, and this woody version is so fresh”.
[Fresh Wave Soy Candle, $18, fresh-wave.com]

Instant Pick-Me-Up:
BODY WASH – “I adore this clean, tingly cleanser! It’s completely vegetable-based and paraben free”.
[Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps Pure Castile Soap in Peppermint, $9, target]

Skin Perfecter:
FACE POWDER – “This gives good coverage and is practically undetectable, plus it’s super-affordable and doesn’t cause breakouts”.
[Physicians Formula Organic Wear Natural Origin Pressed Powder, $14, drugstores]

A Pop Of Color:
NAIL POLISH – “There’s absolutely no smell, and the formula is actually really easy to peel off”.
[Acquarella Nail Polish in Prissy, $18, acquarellapolish.com]

Breath Freshener:
TOOTH GEL – “The blend of tea tree and cinnamon is unusual but so refreshing”.
[Jason Healthy Mouth All-Natural Tea Tree Toothpaste, $6, drugstore.com]

DEODORANT – “This has a nice subtle fragrance and works particularly well”.
[Tom’s of Maine Aluminum-Free Deodorant, $5, drugstores.com]

Total Indulgence:
SCENT + SKINCARE – “My big splurge: the entire Red Flower line. It smells heavenly, and the minimal packaging is gorgeous”.

I’m glad I came across this article. I didn’t even know they made nail polish with out the smell. It sounds like you don’t even need remover another very offensive smell. Can’t wait to try it!

Natural products are always necessary for a skin to breathe fresh and if you are getting all natural things that includes nail polish, deodorant etc; so, I dont find that there is a necessity of chemical based products.
