Two Minutes to Pretty Hair

If you have time to brush your teeth, you can do this little stylist trick. (Good on any hair: Short, long, curly, straight – whatever!)

Just twist and pin up one side. “It’s hot now!” says Nicholas Penna Jr., owner of Salon Capri in Newton Highlands, Massachusetts. His tips:

1. Prep the front. With dry hair, make a side part and work a little texturizer like L’Oreal Paris Studio Line Unkempt Out of Bed Texturizer ($5) into the front section (bangs, too).

2. Do the twist. (Or don’t and skip to step three!) Create a roll by twisting the front section back and away from your face. “The tighter your twist, the more retro it will look”, says Penna. Keep it loose for a more boho look like.

3. Pin it down. Slip a bobby pin into place, then lock it down by putting a second one through your hair and over the first, creating an X. Spritz with hairspray to keep it all together.
